This artwork tells a story. It speaks of Country, of community, of connection. It holds the values we bring to our work and the responsibilities we carry as a First Nations–led business.
We developed it with Narmi Collins Widders, a proud Anēwan woman and cultural storyteller. The process was slow and deliberate. We discussed our origins, the purpose of Anaiwan Advisory, and what sets our approach apart, enabling us to do the work properly, stay close to the community, and deliver outcomes that carry meaning.
What emerged was a cultural anchor.
The story behind the surface
About the artwork
At the centre of the piece is a Yarning Circle. This is where conversations begin. Where people meet, speak, and decide what matters. It reflects how we show up with respect, clarity, and a willingness to listen.
Surrounding the circle are patterns and colours drawn from Anēwan Country.
Green
for growth and the life that surrounds us
White
for the Snow People – the Anēwan
Brown
for the dry earth, the trees, and what holds firm
Blue
for waterholes and rivers that connect and carry memory
Each mark has weight. Each colour carries meaning. The work moves in layers, just like the projects we take on. It reminds us to stay grounded, especially when the pressure builds.

The artwork is a part of our practice.
It guides how we prepare. How we hold meetings. How we speak to clients and how we speak to each other. When things move fast, it reminds us to move with care. When projects become complex, it helps us return to what matters.
We carry this artwork through every part of the business. It shapes how we plan, how we deliver, and how we stay true to the values we began with.

Narmi Collins Widders
Narmi Collins Widders is an Anēwan woman whose work holds strength and stillness in equal measure. Her practice reflects a deep connection to land, kinship, and cultural continuity. Through painting, she brings forward the stories of her people in ways that are both timeless and deeply present.
