Mini Dads at a Distance is a program that supports incarcerated First Nations fathers and uncles by helping them maintain a positive connection with their children. Key Aims:

  • Keeping the connection strong between father/uncle and child.
  • Empowering First Nations men with practical mindfulness skills to manage emotions.

Our Contribution: We provide First Nations storybooks to help preserve cultural storytelling and enhance the connection between fathers and their children.

Anaiwan Advisory partnered with CQUniversity to create mentorship and employment opportunities for students. This partnership is designed to integrate First Nations knowledge and professional expertise into the University’s curriculum, while providing career pathways for students through mentorship programs and career link initiatives.
Key Outcomes:
  • Pro-bono mentorship for students.
  • Development of new course material and potential scholarships.
Our partnership extends opportunities to First Nations students, empowering them through education and career development.

In 2024, Anaiwan Advisory proudly sponsors the Northern Nations Women’s Football Team as they prepare for the First Nations Indigenous Football Cup at Carmichael Park, Queensland. This event will bring together the best Indigenous football talent from across Australia, offering players a chance to showcase their abilities and potentially secure professional opportunities in Premier and A-League teams.

Our sponsorship focuses on supporting the women’s team, predominantly made up of players from Anēwan Country, which deeply aligns with our firm’s cultural roots. This connection reinforces our commitment to empowering Indigenous women from our own communities and providing them with the platform to compete at a national level. Our contribution covers key expenses, including team uniforms, travel, and accommodation, allowing these athletes to focus fully on their performance.

Key Sponsorship Outcomes:

  • Empowering Anēwan Women: Our sponsorship directly enables the participation of women from Anēwan Country, offering them the chance to compete and be recognised for their talents on a national stage.
  • Cultural Connection and Representation: By supporting these athletes, Anaiwan Advisory not only promotes Indigenous women in sports but also strengthens the cultural connection to our firm’s heritage, ensuring that the values of kinship and community remain at the forefront of our endeavors.

In 2024, Anaiwan Advisory proudly stepped in to support Marissa Pohlman, a trailblazing Ngarrindjeri woman and the first Aboriginal female boxer to qualify for the Olympics. At a crucial time in her career, when government funding was limited, our sponsorship provided the essential financial backing Marissa needed to continue her training, attend international camps, and compete in key qualifying events.

Because of our sponsorship, Marissa was able to focus entirely on her Olympic journey without the burden of financial strain. This support allowed her to travel overseas, train with the best coaches, and ultimately secure her place at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Our contribution not only helped her achieve her dream but also reinforced Anaiwan Advisory’s commitment to empowering First Nations athletes on the global stage.

The outcome of our partnership was clear: Marissa didn’t just qualify for the Olympics—she became a symbol of resilience and cultural pride, representing both her heritage and Australia in one of the world’s most prestigious sporting arenas
